PantryShift starts with a simple premise: knowing that a drink contains added sugar does not automatically tell a family what to do next. The 14-day plan focuses on the next action.

Days 1–3: notice the pattern

For three days, a parent records drink categories and approximate servings. Estimates are enough, and a missed record is treated as missing information rather than zero consumption. The app suggests one frequent sweet drink, then asks the parent to confirm it.

Choose a pace

Parents can choose a gentle, standard, or custom plan. The MVP keeps one primary drink target at a time, so the family is not asked to change every food and drink at once.

Reset what is easy to reach

The plan includes practical actions such as adding water or plain milk to the shopping list, moving everyday choices to visible fridge space, and preparing a bottle for outings. A short family rule helps other caregivers use the same default.

Check in without a failure state

A quick check-in records whether the planned switch happened, the usual drink was chosen, the moment did not apply, or the parent forgot to log it. When something gets in the way, PantryShift asks about the barrier and offers one adjustment.

Review on days 7 and 14

The reviews summarize the family’s own records, common obstacles, and completed environment changes. They are feedback for the next decision—not a clinical result or a score for the child.

Start with one source

One small switch can be enough to begin.
